Emergen-C

Brand Identity, Package Design

Packaging redesign of Emergen-C, an effervescent, powdered drink mix vitamin supplement. Our team identified the strengths and weaknesses of the current product packaging and its affect on the user experience. We evaluated both the form and the brand, and defined design objectives to focus our redesign efforts on. Users are often on the move, and the bulky box and inefficient individual product packets hinder their healthy and active lifestyles. Additionally, the quirky personality and natural ingredients of the Emergen-C brand is not expressed through the packaging. 

Working with two teammates, I contributed to the research and conceptual stages of the design process, including identifying our target user, exploring possible directions for both form and brand redesign, and designing the final branding application.

The Problem

Final Solution

Our final solution proposes an update to the Emergen-C Brand to better align with the company’s Brand language and target consumer base. Flavor extensions include super Orange, Lemon-Lime and Raspberry flavors. Each package features a unique pun or fun Vitamin C fact on the inside of the package -- a different
message every time to make the user smile!
